I am a botanical artist currently living in East Sussex, currently specialising in botanical portraiture.
I love to draw outside in my Sussex garden and in the surrounding countryside and am equally fascinated in the over looked weeds and wild flowers of the meadows, verges and seemingly innocuous plants and trees of woodlands as the more grand stately blooms, and love to depict the seasonal changes of British flora.
I love the meditative process of drawing with a fine liner pen especially on very large scale work. I often leave these drawings as linear works but equally have always had a passion for colour , which I apply loosely in watercolour, ink and pen.
I have been n the visual arts all of my life, specifically as a knitwear consultant working with the most high profile and elite fashion designers and design labels around the world in inspirational creative capacity, and I am still very much involved in this field which I love, but find the joy of botanical art to be my new passion, and something very special which I began to explore during lockdown.
I hope to try an capture the spirit of my botanical subjects in a fluid and energetic manner, full of colour and optimism.
I sell my original art framed and unframed at fairs and markets and have also developed a range of table linen based on my art work as well as a large range of greetings cards which I also sell at The Garden Museum in London , at Le Jardins of La Prieure Notre Dame D'Orsan, France and other select retailers.
